I still think that this program could have supported by more commercial project so that it could attract more of younger audience. Which & How Many Broadcasters for OPERA?

However, it remains to clarify the position of the RAI to the famous theater in Milan: it is still impossible to broadcast live television any theatrical Italian opera. This is really unacceptable, especially for those who want culture program broadcast by public broadcasters.

Scala/ Barenboim: La mia ‘Carmen’ sarà ad altissima tensione Dec 2, 2009 / By APCOM

Scale / Barenboim: My ‘Carmen’ will be high voltage
The music is never just funny or just tragic
Milan, December 2 (AFP) – In ‘Carmen’ that opens the season of La Scala “there is always a tension is very high.” And ‘what the teacher said’ Scala ‘Daniel Barenboim, who on 7 December will be on the podium to conduct the opera by Bizet. Daniel Barenboim has taken part in special’ Che tempo che fa ‘that will air tomorrow night view of the ‘first’. Barenboim has occupied more than histrionic scene of special ‘Che tempo che fa’ in conducting the study, with 70 members of the orchestra of La Scala, many steps of the prelude of ‘Carmen’ and eventually lead to the episode, viewers in the theater, where he went immediately after leaving the studies Rai antegenerale to direct the work of the first test. Tomorrow night will be seen on television so opening curtain of ‘Carmen’, even for long-awaited the direction of stage director heterodox ‘off’ Emma Dante, who has also participated in the program, which was first announced and then denied the presence at the scene of a hearse, one rape and unprecedented Carmen dressed as a nun. What you see on TV is the first scene, set in a generic Sicily, with women dressed in black, actually a hearse that cuts the scene, a pregnant woman in the foreground. In Carmen – said Barenboim – there is a history terrible love, feminism, women’s freedom, independence, his cruelty towards women, civil society, children. The music is never just funny or just tragic. ”

Meanwhile, ‘Abbado & Pollini’ never miss a golden opportunity to preach to ‘The Savages’, instead of begging ‘Jolly-but-Poor Italian Politicians’…

Barenboim, carrambata con l’amico Abbado Dec 2, 2009 / By La Stampa

(…) But while Barenboim on television goes there often and I like being on the podium, casually like a rat in the cheese, the timidity of Abbado is legendary. And to say that was presented to the crowds with a stunning television Carramba. Barenboim, who had directed prelude and interludes of Carmen, says it’s time to move on to Beethoven, explains a little ‘the Third Concerto for Piano and announced that he will play (actually, only the roundabout). And Fazio, but it also directs? “No, I will do my very good friend.” That is, surprise, Abbado blue suit and sitting in the orchestra instead of the first cello, complete with tool in hand. No one has screamed “And Abbado is here!”: Sin, it would be too good.

Claudio Magno However if you did well (on TV, of course, as director, you know …). He improvised a gag with a red rag he called “my blanket Linus’ (and here, frankly, ignored), said that the love for the plants comes from the mother, spoke about the 90 thousand trees which requested to plant in Milan as a cachet for the great return to scale (and seem to understand that it was a joke that everyone has taken seriously), and confirmed to be arranged according to the plan by Renzo Piano. Objection, but under the asphalt of Milan there is good ground … Replies: “Well, just out.” Then he accused the government cutter funds to culture: “Music is wealth for everyone, for the poor and the rich. Someone does not understand that the government support the music is to support the country’s wealth. ”

The attack also Pollini: “The civil commitment is very important, also exists in Italy and show people like Saviano. Is anyone digging the knife in burrro, if resistance is not going to the bottom. Between one and another bar, a fun and entertaining Barenboim explained meanwhile his Carmen, which is also that of Dante, which he repeated for the umpteenth time that she does not want to cause anyone wasted effort, because you will see that we will continue a babble of coffins and rapes after that you will be seen that there are. On topic, Lissner wise to remember that the great opera director was born in Italy with Visconti and Strehler (Strehler obviously pronounced). And magnanimous to explain that the cuts threaten the less Scala, that private sponsors has them, all the other theaters
